Founded in 1939 as Quality Courts, a chain of seven Florida motels, Quality Inn is the oldest brand in the Choice Hotels portfolio. The rebrand had to protect more than 80 years of equity (the "Q", the green and the gold) while making the brand feel current. The work was an exercise in restraint: updating only what the brand needed, within the standards a franchise system demands.
